Back it up: Re-cover your backsplashes, cupboards, shelves, and other spaces with tiles, paper, and paint to add areas of interest.

Don’t be afraid to mis-match: Can’t touch your rented walls? See those standard issue blank spaces as a canvas. Mix and match your furnishings to add a pop of colour.

Fabrics and soft furnishings are a great way to add colour and easy to swap out with the seasons and changing tastes. Try some throw cushions, patchworks, and crochets to mix and match your way. You can even frame sections of bright, vintage fabrics to add pattern cheaply!

Step it up: Stairways are often overlooked when re-decorating but they offer a great space to boost the colour in your home. Use leftover wallpaper, vintage fabric, or paint to add a pop of colour.
